Isabel Friend

Sacred Waters: A Journey into the Science and Soul of the Divine Liquid

Isabel Friend will take you far beyond what we typically consider water in this Keynote Presentation. Rather than just the physical body of water, we will also look at her mind and spirit. Just like you, water is a triune being. Recognizing all three facets of water is the key to unlocking her spiritual dimensions and miraculous capacities. The fact is, we need a new definition of water that encompasses her transcendent nature and the forces with which she is in constant contact. Many ancient cultures knew her to be an intermediary between the human and the heavenly, between the physical and the divine, and between the manifest and the unmanifest. And this is because she is a part of both worlds. In this presentation, Isabel will explore scientific and ancient esoteric teachings about how exactly this is true. In this presentation, our deep spiritual exploration of our own souls and the nature of God will begin in earnest.

Bio: Isabel Friend is an international ambassador of Water, public speaker, and educator. As a student, servant, and steward of Water, she seamlessly blends science and spirit into a comprehensive cosmology of Water wisdom. Spanning the practical insights of health, hydration and biology, to empowering tactics for Watershed guardianship and ecological activism, to the esoteric and subtle insights of ancient indigenous Water wisdom, to the heady scientific discoveries of cutting edge Water research, Isabel's offerings are as multifaceted as Water itself. She has taught about Water throughout the US, Canada, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Bali, Mexico and Thailand. She is currently semi-nomadic, and enjoys spending her time fire-dancing, hiking, riding her motorcycle, and geeking out like a mad scientist in her laboratory. Most importantly, Isabel is deeply devoted to helping YOU embody the empowerment that is inherent in being a body of Water, living on a body of Water. Because Water is life, and life is sacred. www.waterislife.love - www.waterislife.academy - www.waterislife.shop

Water wheel of the year: connecting to your local bodies of water

The Wheel of the Year is a modern conceptualization of cyclical seasonal celebrations that follow the ebb and flow of darkness and light over the course of a year. It contains eight holidays, or sabbats, altogether: four solar festivals (the equinoxes and solstices), and four fire festivals (each Celtic in origin, marking the halfway point between solstice and equinox). There is wisdom in the rhythm of the water. Water is everywhere, including as vapor in our atmosphere and the cells of all living things. There’s no question about the power of water, how it carves through the earth, making grand canyons, and how it can cause catastrophic damage during storm events. Yet, it’s soft to touch, and you can’t grasp it. When it’s frozen, you can, but even then, the surface is smooth and slippery, eventually melting and becoming soft again. Everything around us is made of water. On this lecture we will learn how to connect to our local bodies of water, their spirits and how to heal through the creation of your own wheel of the year.

Bio: Paz Elemental is an ordained priestess of the goddess from the Avalonian Tradition and water priestess from Chile. Since a very young age, she felt a strong connection with the ocean, the energy of water spirits and magic. She studied to become an EFL educator and for some years, she taught first and second graders several subjects such as science, math, history and geography. Since 2018 she has been working as a full time hypnotherapist, Reiki master and Tarot reader. But she is really passionate about learning and continues to study different esoteric and priests arts, as well as science and marine biology field in order to connect the mind and the spirit. Paz is the founder of the priestess training “Nacidos de las Aguas.” (Born from the Waters) which has different students from Chile, Peru, Mexico and Spain. She sees all the bodies of water as one reflection of our own consciousness, so complex that can be related to different archetypes and qualities that can be found in ourselves. She refers to water as Dama del agua (Lady of the waters). You can find her chanting along the sound of the waves, swimming during the foggy mornings and spell casting the waters during sunsets all year long on the small coast of Iquique, Chile.

The ancient connection between song and water: A lesson from the Sirens

In this lecture, we will remember the ancient connection between song and water, so easily forgotten in a world where the act of singing is air-focused. Water has always informed the act of singing. Diving into the archives on singing, we find metaphors of how water moves woven into traditional singing pedagogy. According to lore, we also find the best singers in the world, not on land, but in the water: thousand-year-old myths across cultures feature creatures in water who sing songs of enchantment. In our time together, we will approach water songstresses like the Sirens as if they are our singing teachers. They will invite us to bring our singing closer to water. They will remind us that when we sing, we’re always singing to a body of water, whether that is our own or outside of us. Through entering depictions of these mythical scenes, through studying diagrams of different bodies of water as well as through vocal exercises, the water songstresses will take us on a journey of illumination, opening our cymatic vision to seeing and feeling the patterns that are made as their and our songs weave into bodies of water. A meld of the singing mysteries, of liquid and vocal magic, this lecture provides a visual context for your sounding practice, magnifying what’s going on when you sound on the unseen level, from one body of water to another. You will leave having more insight (literally) into what is happening when you are singing, having also taken a moment to reflect on how you desire to express and wield your unique sound current in the world, for the benefit of all waters. Bring three small bowls of wild water. Be in a space where you feel comfortable doing gentle sounding.

Bio: Sophia Edlund, PhD, is a voice practitioner-researcher, artist, mystic, singer, sound healer and teacher, who began her journey with water through song. At an early age, Sophia was drawn to mythical scenes of Sirens and mermaids singing songs in the water. She devoted ten years in academia to diving deeper into these scenes, while also seeking an answer to the question: ‘what is singing?’ In 2023, she completed a practice-based doctorate on the enchanting power of voice. Next to her research, Sophia is passionate about connecting people to the powerful currents that are their voices, in activating their songs and unlocking new directions for their songs to flow. She has taught Undergraduate students, arts practitioners, voice artists and teachers. She also coaches one-to-one. Sophia currently weaves, writes and teaches from Sweden about vocal magic and vocal wounds, bringing in ecological, mythical and feminine-based approaches to her voice work. She serves through the Voice Water Temple, a space helping people to connect to Siren and mermaid song medicine.

Rite of The Nereids

Through meditation and visualization, we will journey to the Ocean’s edge to ritualize this one sweet life and lay our love in the hands of the Nereids, the fifty sacred daughters of the Greek Father of the Sea, Nereus and the Oceanid Doris. Each Sea Goddess Nymph daughter was born exuding the immense beauty of the Sea and lived devoted to its protection. The Nereids, each born with a their own magickal gift of healing, serve the Ocean and all of Her Creations. In the ancient days of Greece, altars of offering were built in honor of these Daughters of the Sea that were believed to protects sea faring souls and ensure their safe return to the harbor of their home. Born of water, humans carry the longing to belong, to be within the energy of home, we each seek a safe harbor to return to. The Nereids teach us to trust that our safe harbor is within our own sweet souls. They teach us that our healing begins within and offer their own hands for us to return home upon when we are in need of support; if we will only take that first step forward, we will not falter because the Nereids love, and support is beneath each sacred and courageous step. Kerry Veitch

Birth to Rebirth

Join me for a 90 minute journey culminating in a guided meditation. Birth to Rebirth is an exploration of the relationship between our breath and water, and what can happen when we consciously, through sacred ceremony invite these two elements to work together. Kerry will explain how our ancestral blueprint & somatic birth imprints can affect our lives today, and how the water's memory through warm water rebirthing can support us back to source, and to repattern and recode our physical, emotional, energetic and spiritual bodies into a higher awareness.

Bio: Kerry has been connected with Rebirthing Breathwork, since 1993, with a focus now on embodiment practices such as Internal Family Systems and Eugene Gendlin's Focusing, as well as her shamanic studies with Northern Drum. Kerry has a trauma informed approach, and the owner and trainer of AIR School of Breathwork.

Kerry loves to work with the consciousness in our breath and the consciousness of water, finding that the two love to dance together. Using the water's innate ability to hold people in loving presence, alongside its incredible memory of each and every one of us, she is able to guide people back to Source. When this happens, we are able to recode ancestral and birth imprints and move through a process into rebirth. (To give you an idea of how this might work; maybe contemplate that she has been at every birth on the planet!)

Kerry’s very grounded nature holds a very safe space for breathers, holding them in their highest potential and being committed to the unfolding of each person’s own journey which of course is guided perfectly by our breath.
